Neil Simon is universal and beyond language barriers. Check out this production of Rumors by an Italian Theatre Troupe Teatro dell'Accatto. The energy, humor, and messages that they are trying to convey come through loud and clear even if you don't speak Italian. This is one example of Rumors done well and done right, the way Simon surely envisioned it!

Let the Play Begin Players held a fast, but fun audition before today's full-company rehearsal. Now, the audition results are in!

We are very fortunate to bring Mia Miller on board as Officer Pudney for our upcoming production of Neil Simon's Rumors. She aced the audition and we are so very happy to have her as our newest volunteer and cast member!

Let the Play Begin Players is STILL looking for a volunteer to play the crucial role of Glenn Cooper. So spread the word and tell your friends! All interested individuals should contact us at lettheplaybeginplayers@yahoo.com.

We have an urgent and immediate need to fill the roles of Glenn and Officer Pudney for our upcoming June production of Neil Simon's Rumors. Let the Play Begin Players is hosting an open audition for the roles. Glenn is scripted as a male that is approximately 25 to 40 years old. Officer Pudney is scripted for a female approximately 25 to 40 years of age.

We are a non-professional theatre group comprised solely of volunteers that welcomes any person interested in performing regardless of skill level. All that is required is a desire to perform and the ability to attend rehearsal and performance dates in Long Beach. See below for important information:

Audition Date and Time: Saturday, April 21, 9:30AM

Audition Location: Archstone #2, 225 W. 3rd Street, Long Beach, CA, 90802 (between Cedar Avenue and Pacific Avenue, see map below)

Role: The role of Glenn is a significant and essential role within an ensemble cast. The role of Officer Pudney is a smaller commitment part, but an important component of the script.

Current Rehearsal Schedule: Every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning from April 21 to June 16, with additional evening rehearsals the week of June 18. No rehearsals will be held between May 24 and May 29. The actor playing Officer Pudney will not have to attend all of the above mentioned rehearsal dates.

Performance Dates: Saturday, June 23, 2012
                               Sunday, June 24, 2012

How to Prepare for the Audition: There is no need to bring a prepared monologue. Actors will be required to read from the Rumors script at the audition. Familiarity with Rumors will be helpful for the audition, but by no means is such familiarity required.

What We Are Looking For: We are open-minded! We do not have a specific "type" in mind. Everyone is welcome!

RSVP: To reserve a spot at the audition or for more information, please send an email with your name, phone number, and any questions/comments that you may have to lettheplaybeginplayers@yahoo.com
